Dcode Festival!!

Love, Marta Turner ❤

Here I am again, after my totally deserved summer rest, highschool starts and that's why I need to be highly concentrated, so I will publish once every two weeks.

Today I am sad and happy at the same time because...yesterday was Dcode Festival! God, that festival is one of my favourites and I have so close home but unfortunately I couldn't go :(( For those of you that don't know about this festival it's (in my opinion) the best music festival of Madrid and it is always celebrated the second weekend of September except the first edition that was celebrated in June, all of this in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid campus. Here artists like Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend, The Killers or My Chemical Romance have performed this previous years.

In this edition 2014, celebrated yesterday, attended artists like Beck, La Roux, Chvrches, Jake Bugg, Vetusta Morla or Russian Red. It's true that from the first three I only knew the scotish Chvrches bu, t I need to say that Beck and La Roux are worth to listen. That's why, mi favourites in this festival are Jake Bugg, Vetusta Morla and Russian Red and today I'm going to talk about them (except Russian Red that I previously talked about her in this post) But first a small summary about what happened yesterday.

- About Jake Bugg with only 18 years he attracted the public and press with his first extraordinary album that rapidly put in the first position of the british sale lists. Author of successes like 'Two Fingers' or 'Lightning Bolt', Jake Bugg comes now with 'Shangri La' (Universal/2013). His second album, produced by Rick Rubin (AC/DC, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers...), is full of songs with some rocks, folk and country tastes.

In my opinion his best songs are in his first album and are this ones:

- Vetusta Morla started in the 1998 summer. Nowadays, the group is composed by Pucho (Juan Pedro Martin, voice), David García (drumset), Jorge González (percusion), Álvaro B. Baglietto (bass), Guillermo Galván (guitar) y Juan Manuel Latorre (guitar and piano). On February 2008, they edit their first album 'Un día en el mundo' and three years laters, on may 3rd 2011 they published their second album 'Mapas'. This same yeat it came into the market their last album 'La Deriva'.

Personally, every album has its own magic so here you hace my favourite songs of the three albums:

Now I want to recommend you a tv series that got me from the very first minute. This is True Detective nominated to 5 Emmy awards 2014 and winner in the category of Best direction in Drama Series (Cary Joji Fukunaga). The main characters of this series are several couples of detectives. In the first season, two detectives from Louisiana, Rust Cohle (Matthew Mcconaughey) y Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson), they have to research the hard case of a serial killer, in which they worked some years ago. When they see themselves forced to come back to a world they thought they had left appart, the advances in the investigation and the bigger mutual knowledge teach them that darkness its at both sides of the law. This is, without any doubt, one of the tv series of the moment in USA and in which Matthew Mcconaughey makes an amazing acting.

And that's all for today, in two weeks I come back with more music, series, films or books. Cheer up to those of you that start the classes tomorrow (like me T.T).
Love, Marta Turner ❤
